Course Description
The Digital Video Production specialisation is designed to give you the full experience of digital video production, from concept to final production. You will be instructed in camera use, lighting, video and audio editing, motion graphics, film and video theory, DVD authoring and compositing. In these units you will learn the basics of lighting, as well as gaining extensive hands-on experience with industry standard equipment in a variety of conditions. Subjects include shooting under special conditions and lighting design and implementation. You will learn how to set up, maintain and use various types of digital video cameras, and how to achieve a range of special effects. Skills are taught using both theory and hands-on experience and subjects include: camera basics, editing, digital visual effects, sound design and screen title creation. The course also cover aspects of the digital video production process beyond the areas of lighting, camerawork and editing. You will learn how to plan a production correctly in order to make it stand out from others. You will research the vital aspects of digital video production, develop storylines and treatments and create storyboards.
You will learn the skills that are essential in any workplace. You will be guided through the process of scoping, planning, implementing and evaluating a project from start to finish, using real-world situations and examples. In the business units of your course, you will learn skills such as teamwork and collaboration, networking, project management, liaising with clients and occupational health and safety.
